Coordinating and deciding, that is the way to summarize a typical work day for me. About a third of my working time here at SCHURTER France is spent on production and quality control, a third is invested in Sales, and a third is devoted to HR topics. And again and again it means clarifying issues, solving problems quickly and finding customer-oriented solutions.
In France SCHURTER France is the leader in the fuse market and produces for well-known firms such as Thales France, Airbus and the defense industry among others. I have been working as the Managing Director of SCHURTER France since April 2015. For me it is very exciting to develop our location in France and at the same time to integrate our competences into the SCHURTER Group worldwide. Communication and trust are the key factors in the process. I ensure that what has been agreed is also implemented. I keep my promises. I appreciate that at SCHURTER it is not primarily about hierarchies, structures and rules. People are at the center of it all. We communicate directly, resolve problems expediently and act quickly.
The customer focus is our top priority. That begins by leaving my office door open for each employee in the company. If someone reports a problem, we look for solutions together. Finally, it is a matter of satisfying our customers. Our economic survival depends on it. Our employees are very aware of that.
I consider my role to be that of a mediator, someone who makes things possible in the company. My leadership is very operative. It is my task to search for the ways and means to achieve the strategic objectives. That has a lot to do with motivation. When each person is successful in his position, then we are also successful as a company – for us and our customers. If, for example, Production reports that it wants to pay overtime in order to meet a delivery commitment, then naturally I am pleased! Thus our slogan "My job is my passion" is not just a paper slogan but is also a way of life.
